Metaflam Oral Suspension belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs NSAIDs<\/p>\n
Meloxicam exhibits anti-inflammatory analgesic and antipyretic effects Its action is mediated primarily through selective inhibition of cyclooxygenase-2 COX-2 resulting in reduced synthesis of prostaglandins involved in inflammation pain and fever<\/p>\n
After oral administration meloxicam is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract extensively bound to plasma proteins metabolized mainly in the liver and excreted primarily via feces and urine<\/p>\n
Indications for Use<\/strong>\n
Metaflam Oral Suspension is indicated for the relief of inflammation and pain associated with acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders degenerative joint diseases and postoperative pain<\/p>\n
Intended for use in dogs and or other species as specified by the manufacturer<\/p>\n
Contraindications<\/strong>\n
Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to meloxicam or other NSAIDs gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding severe hepatic renal or cardiac impairment dehydration hypovolemia or hypotension<\/p>\n
Not recommended for use in young animals below the minimum age specified by the manufacturer or in pregnant and lactating animals unless under veterinary supervision<\/p>\n
